Rack, cable, and power on appliance hardware in client data centers and server rooms, working to the client's cable management and labeling standards

Coordinate on-site logistics: shipping or hand-carrying equipment, badge access, escorts, loading dock and change window scheduling

Configure out-of-band management (iDRAC/iLO/IPMI), apply firmware and BIOS baselines, and complete initial network bring-up

Run post-install validation — power redundancy, network reachability, thermal and health checks — and confirm the box is ready for software config

Produce clean install documentation: serial and asset records, as-built photos, port maps, and a completed install checklist back to the implementation lead

Work directly with client IT and data center staff on-site, answering hardware and connectivity questions and escalating product, security, or scope questions to the implementation lead

Role requires ~40% US-based travel, occasionally on short notice

GPU server or AI/ML appliance deployment experience

Prior field service work in banking, credit unions, or another regulated industry

Network+, CCNA, or equivalent

Familiarity with vendor security review processes and remote support tooling

2–4 years hands-on experience installing server hardware in data center or enterprise environments (colo, MSP, internal IT, or vendor field service)

Comfortable with rail kits, PDUs, redundant power, and structured cabling — both copper and fiber (SFP+/QSFP)

Working knowledge of out-of-band management tooling, BIOS/firmware updates, and basic Linux CLI

Network fundamentals: IP addressing, VLANs, DNS, and enough troubleshooting ability to isolate a connectivity problem to the right side of the demarc

Able to travel on client timelines, including occasional after-hours or weekend change windows

Able to pass financial-institution vendor background screening

Clear written documentation habits and professional presence in a client environment
