About the role
Our engineering team is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong technical and communication skills, performing a variety of technical duties within and related to Azure usage and administration. You’ll dive right in and be an instrumental member of our technical team and will be exposed to the Nerdio platform and our Product Management, Support, Development, and QA teams in a fully remote environment.
What you'll do
- Develop and own automation scripts and workflows using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other automation tools to automate routine tasks, deployments, and infrastructure changes to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors
- Own PowerShell Script and Modules front end for Nerdio APIs
- Own various Dashboards and Analytic Tools within the Engineering group to help monitor and report usage metrics
- Monitor and report outlying issues
- Assist engineering group with Azure-related administration tasks
- Work closely with the offshore teams on all aspects of the project lifecycle
- Review all technical support-related processes and documentation for continuous improvement
- Engage in technical discussions with the stakeholders (PMs, Developers, and QA)
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in the IT industry
- Expert knowledge of PowerShell, shell scripting and automation
- Expert understanding of Azure Cloud Platform with emphasis on Azure Virtual Desktops
- Well-versed in .NET, C#, React, SQL Server, and other modern web technologies
- Knowledge of Azure and desktop virtualization technologies such as AVD, Citrix, and VMWare is essential
- Demonstrate administration proficiency in Azure DevOps
- Knowledge and experience in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Configuration Management (SCM), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), Cloud Configuration, and Implementations
- Knowledge of analytical and reporting tools
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field is preferred

- Ability to ramp up quickly on both new technologies and existing technologies
- Excellent documentation skills
- Excellent technical design, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Excellent collaborative skills, with strong written and verbal communication

- Self-motivated team player who can run with a project and is willing to pitch in as needed
- Able to multitask efficiently under time pressure
- Ability to work with offshore teams to provide DevOps support to PMs, Developers, and QA
