Position Overview
We are building a cutting-edge Platform that will transform the way our customers identify, protect and govern their data. This will revolutionize how customers secure their data by placing identity at the core – providing unparalleled visibility and control.
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Engineering to lead and scale engineering teams responsible for designing, building, and delivering cutting-edge Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) solutions for enterprise customers. This role will drive technical strategy, team execution, and product delivery in a high-growth cybersecurity environment, with a sharp focus on threat detection, identity protection, and secure enterprise integration.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and grow multiple engineering teams focused on ITDR product lines, including threat detection, identity monitoring, behavioral analytics, and remediation workflows.
- Partner with Product Management, Security Research, and Customer Success to define technical vision, product strategy, and roadmap execution.
- Translate business and security requirements into scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.
Engineering Execution
- Oversee the design, architecture, and delivery of robust, performant, and secure ITDR solutions for our customers.
- Champion best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, code quality, observability, and system reliability.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features and enhancements across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-native environments.
Team Management
- Mentor and empower engineering managers and technical leads; promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent with a focus on diversity, collaboration, and growth.
- Establish and measure key engineering KPIs and operational metrics.
Customer and Security Focus
- Work closely with enterprise customers, security teams, and solution architects to understand evolving identity threats and compliance needs.
- Ensure product solutions align with industry standards (e.g., NIST, MITRE ATT&CK) and integrate well with modern identity ecosystems (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, Ping).
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering with at least 3+ years in an engineering leadership/director role.
- Proven experience in Identity Security, Threat Detection, Security Operations, or related domains.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams that deliver enterprise-scale SaaS or hybrid security solutions.
- Strong technical background in backend systems, cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and cybersecurity tools.
- Deep understanding of identity systems (IAM, SSO, MFA), SIEM/SOAR integrations, and threat intelligence.
- Exceptional communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ITDR frameworks and tools.
- Familiarity with machine learning or behavior-based anomaly detection.
- Hands-on experience with languages like Go, Java, or Python and modern DevOps practices.
- Prior experience in a high-growth cybersecurity or identity startup is a plus.
